Your bedspace and privacy

We want you to know that we will respect your privacy and we understand that your bedspace is your living environment. Staff will need to see that you are keeping it clean and hygienic. This demonstrates that you are taking responsibility and becoming more independent.

Though we will always respect your privacy there may be times where we have to enter your room if we believe there are items in there that could be potentially dangerous to you or other in the home such as drugs, alcohol, weapons or stolen items. The course of action we will take is going to depend on what we find. This could result in a meeting or a call to the police. This will reflect on our policy of room searches. Ultimately possession of some of these items could affect your living at the home.

Bedspace and the rest of the home

Your bedspace is your own personal area and you can have meals there, do work, watch TV, listen to music, chill out or spend time with family and friends as long as you are not violating any rules in the home or causing any inconvenience to anyone in the home or the neighbours. Your room will be furnished with a double bed, a double settee or a comfortable chair, mini fridge, TV, wardrobe and drawers, desk and a chair for studying or reading. You will have your own key for your room, which we always expect you to keep locked when you are not there.

Within the home you will have access to a fully equipped kitchen workstation with a microwave, kettle, fridge, and freezer. All cutlery will be available including plates, pots and pans so you can do your own cooking. You will have access to a shared bathroom which includes a bath and a shower. You will also have access to a washing machine so you can do your own laundry. You will have your own front door key for the home to let yourself in when coming home.
